In the Meantime
"In the Meantime" is a song Rene wrote with his friend and coworker Michael Ferrari for LCBC and I'm really excited that I get to share it with you guys today. I'm a proud wife.
Below are the lyrics. We'd love to hear your thoughts.
In the morning
In the evening
In my doubting
In my believing
In my winning
In my losing
I'm still choosing
To believe in mean time
Where I wander
Wherever I roam
Wherever you are
Is where I'll make my home in the meantime
Keep these eyes up
Keep this head straight
Life is like a game of hurry up and wait
There's nothing I can do
Except believe in you
I don't know how you do it
But you always pull me through
In my waiting
In my leaving
In my asking
In my receiving
Though I wonder
What you're doing
I'm still choosing
To believe in the meantime
Whatever eyes see
Whatever hands can hold
I'm trying to believe
You see and hold my soul in the meantime

hummingbird
I love hummingbirds.
But then again, have you ever met a soul who doesn't love hummingbirds? didn't think so.
They're fascinating and beautiful. And one of my favorite bands wrote a song called hummingbird. Give it a listen and enjoy this gem of a moment I caught at last weekend's wedding.

We're Alive
I made a little something for you today to go along with this song that's meant a lot to me recently.
Listen and read.
Listen and read.

ampersands and ikea
It's funny how we never realized how much of our furniture was not actually ours until we moved.
So, we went to Ikea. Problem solved.
We got some bookshelves (desperately needed. I adore being surrounded by books, but they were accumulating in unsightly piles and felt neglected.) & this sweet, super comfy grey chair.
I love ampersands. And letters. And books, did I mention that one?
oh, hey... & a kitty.
p.s. Here's a treat for your ears.
Ingrid Michaelson, I've loved you since boys and girls.

Safe & Sound
And while we're on topic, I came across the most amazing song today.
Taylor Swift, plus the Civil Wars (whom I love), plus The Hunger Games. Throw those three together into a melodic, folky lullaby and you have one of my new favorites. Enjoy the gorgeous video...
Also, Taylor Swift in this video looks just as I imagined Prim while reading the books. I loved that.

a sunrise and a song
It was wonderful to see the sun the other day. It was also wonderful to be up early enough to see it rise. It's been a rough week full of wonderful moments. We miss home, our dearest friends and family. We miss our cat. But we have been exploring the city and falling in love with it. We've been meeting some really amazing people. I know that deep and lifelong friendships will be found in time and that the ones we've left behind will only grow stronger across the distance.
It's a strange place to be, in such transition. I just have a sunrise and a song for you today.
